What exact years are the steering column for Beck speedsters???

I am going to buy a new steering wheel,but want to MAKE SURE the $1,000.00 Nardi wheel I am buying has the right adapter.
What steering column is the Beck speedster built with? Thanks y'all.

Tom, I had similar concerns last year about this time and went directly to Carey Hines and got a really nice Nardi Anni 50, Porsche horn button and proper hub for plenty less than $1000. From watching my frind Mike make wheels, I really gotta wonder how that first one was made. You certainly couldn't put it on a lathe for shaping and smoothing. A router maybe, but a lathe wouldn't work. I guess that's why it's so expensive.

Rich,I already have a wood steering wheel that looks almost exactly like that one you have,I wanted to treat myself to something that has a somewhat "dished" look and have that awesome high quality crest on the wheel. The wheel I have is flat and I want one that projects a little towards the driver,and it appears the one you have may be just the ticket,however I want a nice horn button!
I may just buy a cheaper modern Nardi then,sine I do not see spending 2k and the adapter doesn't work/fit! So does anyone know the years that the steering column used in the Beck is? That way I can see if I cn get a good looking compatible adapter.
I wish I could find the horn crest buttons similar to the ones on the 2K wheels!!

Thomas, just give Carey a shout or e-mail. I'm sure he can give you the answer. When I was shopping last year I got all sorts of info from the vendors but felt going to the "horse's mouth" gave me the true and right answer.

Porsche 924

I have the knock off Nardi that Carey installs with the Porsche crest horn button & I'm completely satisfied. I've driven a couple of Speedsters with real Nardi's, and aside from the etched signature, could not really tell the difference. There should be a photo on my car profile that shows it.

I just noticed that I fell out of donating member status and corrected that. I really appreciate this board and it's worth every penny.

I called Special edition todayand they told me the same,924. I ended up getting a Nardi for $375.00 shipped. Sanity prevailed and I stayed away from the 2k wheels.
My next project is to get all the switches/knobs on the dash looking more "period".

Carey has some really nice billet aluminum bezels that help with the look, along with the "ivory package". You'll have to paint your e-brake handle to match, but it's worth it.

Nice! Lane,I saw a original nardi wheel that has the downturned spokes on it like yours,but the spokes had little cutouts. It is on ebay right now,it is basically a original version of your wheel,pretty cool.

Nice. I've never seen that style Nardi before. My wheel is modeled after a Les Leston design. The downturned spokes are great. To me they're more comfortable, and they don't block the gauges. BTW, I've since added engine turning to the spokes.
