OK, OK, this should be easy, but I'm stumped. I took the engine out to replace the fan shroud, the pushrod tubes and plug some leaks. Nothing electrical involved. Put the engine back in and there's no spark. Hot to the coil and back to the distributor, but nothing at the plugs. Someone suggested that the breakerless ignition has crapped out, but how could that be?
Help me, o speedster gurus.

I have also personally forgotten to put the rotor back in, but you would never do that. Would you? I probably spent an hour 35 years ago "trouble shooting no spark at the plugs. I even replaces points and condenser. Had that cap off on and quite a few times. Finally noticed the rotor sitting on the floor next to my pack of cigarettes. I should have taken a cigarette break sooner!
Three quick things to check - besides the rotor --- 1)Be sure nothing else is hooked to the distributor side of coil that wasn't there before (I had a friend who happened to hook his reverse lights power wire up to distributor side of coil & couldn't figure out why his engine would die when he shifted into reverse???) 2)Be sure you are getting power to your coil (even while you crank engine over) 3)Take an old plug - hook it up to a spark plug wire (any will do) and ground the plug while someone cranks the motor over --- you should heve spark, if not unit most likely is bad (easy way to check out electronic ignitions).
