... I can't seem to enter any text after the pictures, so anyhow:

I'm hoping that if I tie the existing rear transaxle hanger back to the frame near the pivot point of the banana arms, it'll stiffen things up enough to eliminate the need for the elaborate rear mount set-up I made (at great time and expense).

Only the front mount will be urethane, and it's sandwiched by bolts (not using the mount as the hanger-point, only as an vibration isolater). The rear transaxle mounts will be the CB rhino-mounts.

It might work, it might not. That's what you get at this level of play.

I posted pictures. They're on the bottom of the first page of this thread. The first one is of the rear hanger, the second is of the hanger and engine in the engine compartment. The hanger mounts by means of 911 motor mounts. They are visible in the picture of the engine compartment.

I haven't figured out how to do a Kaefer bar on this set-up yet. There are not frame-horns, per se in a tube-frame IM. I'm not describing it very well, but there is a "hoop" hanger that the rear transaxle mounts attach to, that is supported off the frame member running just ahead of the firewall, above the transaxle. A Kaefer bar has nothing to mount to under the transaxle, although rigging something up is possible.

I keep everything, even stuff I don't think I'll ever use. The only part I've ever sold was a Kaefer bar I never had a chance to mount on the JPS. I wish I had it back now...

My apologies, Stan; I was interested in seeing where the engine support bar bolts to the engine itself. I'm assuming  it bolts to the case bosses one either side of the oil pump? And I didn't realize that the later Intermeccanica's didn't have frame horns so that's why I asked to see what the rear hanger (I mean trans yolk) looks like; I gather it's similar to the hoop the 356's use?

009 distributor for break-in purposes only.

The long-block was ready ahead of the ignition, so we chose to break-in the cam/lifters with a 009 firing one set of plugs. The lower plugs are in but not firing yet. Rest assured: there will be a bundle-'o-wires half of which lead to the lower plugs when the engine is installed in the car.

You better be having FUN!

Did Jeanie like the video?

We're very lucky my friend, both of our wives are Saints!

Fun With Cars

Joel-

Thanks, my friend!

I'm having a blast. Thanks for asking!

Jeanie just saw the video. You are correct, sir-- she is a jewel of great value, and I know it. There aren't a lot of women who would be able to stomach my "science-project" approach to a hobby car, especially when she really doesn't care much about cars. Couple that with the fact that she's the prettiest girl in town, and picked ME for some reason (back when I had hair), and I'm a happy man.

Fun with LIFE.
