Based on the values I have seen over the past few years, a good used IM in Ontario would go for around 30K. I think I know the car you are looking at, and it is a beautiful and unique example of a Roadster, but it is a '91 car.

A brand new IM built to mimic this one, would be over 50K Canadian. I have seen imported Speedsters from the U.S. also selling for 30K. It's a matter of supply and demand here. Once and a while you can find a bargain, but it takes a lot of looking, or else you can go through the hoops of importing a car yourself from the States.

Well, you can see none of us are very good at talking in canadian dollars. It is as Robert said sometimes harder to find a car in Canada ready to be driven, and this can cost a little more, but is also in many respects worth it from what I here.

I sold my 93 for 24k here in the US after only 4 days of listing it on ebay. If I had been in the mood to work at it, it would have gone for more, but I needed it to sell so I could order another one for spring. I think I would probably defer to Robert on what the value of this car is since he knows of the car and the normal prices in Canada?
MId 30's for a 91 is high. I sold my 84 IM for $23K (Canadian). It had fewer miles (26,000) and had similar features (new 2110, custom 1 5/8 inch exhaust system with custom 1 5/8 inch heater boxes, rebuilt HD tranny, 4 wheel discs, Porsche replica rims, 911 type shroud, CD box and Mallory distributor, and a Gene Berg locking, short shifter. It also had the original top, interior and paint. The fun part was adding all the stuff. The not-so-fun stuff was adding up the bills (don't do this!) Very good IMs are hard to come by in Canada.

Transport Canada has a PDF you can download that tells you exactly what you can and cannot import. Their motto is something like " We're not happy till you're unhappy ".

In big nerf terms in Ontario you can't buy a new IM, or import anything older than 15 years old. Since most replicas have to be titled as per their original donner car you are hooped either way. Your best bet is to buy something used that's in country already.

One of the great things about IM's is they retain their value, so while the price sounds high today you should be able to sell it for something similar after you are done having your way with it.
