I'm sure this post will get all sorts of comments !

During the driving months how many miles do you put

on your car in a week?  I'm not an explorer, I prefer

a destination.  At 6'2'' the car is about a 90 minute

driver in addition to being a back surgery survivor.

Hi Terry,

As a long-term bad back guy, I have found what helps me increase my seat time.  I took three towels and rolled them to differing thicknesses, like 4", 6", and 8".  When my back would get sore, I would try each one for pain relief.  The 6" model works for me, so I keep a towel duct-taped to that thickness in any cars I have that I may use for extended driving.  Warning: different seats offer different challenges for bad back guys, so what works in one car may not work in another.  My current cars have similar seats.  Hope this helps.

Jim I also have had disc injuries. That why I made the Honda seats fit and look close to correct.  At this point I think I  could do something similar with 1 inch conduit pipe.  Only problem Is they wont have the adjustable reclining backs ..

If I could get some input from you guys as to what is the most comfortable seat deck and seat back angles to weld them solid too . I might have you a working replacements  off the drawing board.. Only frames and springs and seat tracks.. My hope is to use Real 356 coupe foam and covers.

I'm sure with Jim on this one. In this neck of the woods we can't drive much in the winter so my most of my miles came from long trips. Lately though I've been using the Speedster as a daily driver whenever convenient. We like to travel and have racked up just over 36,000 miles since Sept 2010. How's this pic, Jim ? Mesa Verde National Park in Colo up around 8,000 feet in May of 2012. Second pic is a favourite in a remote area in Arizona earlier on that trip. Last pic is just a nice one on the coast of Maine last summer.

You fellas with the bad backs sure have my sympathy.....I've been pretty lucky so far.

I just noticed the different stance of the rear end of the car in pics two and three. The first was with the old aircooled 1915 and plenty of gear packed on that long trip. The last pic was with the Soob, lightly packed and up a bit with the coil overs installed to take the extra weight in the rear.
