what is the engine cover latch | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

What are you using for the engine cover latch? I bought a hot rod style bearclaw latch but it is a bit difficult to install. The one with the CMC is much larger but I cannot seem to find out what it is

In 1953, the Mexican Road Race Ford entries used a bungee cord - see picture. Sure, the engine cover is on the other end of the car, but it IS a genuine period piece and just might work!
