I am trying to get a variance from my town to build another garage bay (to put my future speedster in) and my first attempt was denied. I wanted to add another bay with an 8 foot garage door. It placed me, in their opionion, too close to the property line. I was thinking that maybe I can get away with a 7 foot door. What do you think?

Paul,

I would think 7 feet would be wide enough to fit a Speedster. Maybe you could knock out the back wall unless that is your bedroom. Speedsters are kind of small but I don't know the exact dimensions. I am sure somebody here knows the width. In my garage I dropped a syrofoam ball on a string to line up with the center rearview mirror post so I don't scrape the car on shelving and wall units I have. Works very well.
