My first tub was ivory, it is the easiest to touch up the paint on after a few seasons of road rash...

Here are a couple of Ivory Speedsters that might help you make up your mind.

With Ivory I doubt you can make a mistake in terms of interior color. Name it, it works.
annaliese,
If you click on my name (drdemanto) you can view my profile and photo's....sift through all the girlie pic's (my way of entertaining the troops) the further down you go the older the pic's and you will see my three tubs. First one was ivory, second one was a red wide body and my current one is the widest body in Harley Davidson black cherry....built last year by Kirk...you will also see various shots of the west coast gang over the years.
I leave tomorrow for my first trip to see the East coast part of our so-called club...wish me luck, they seem to be a wierd bunch...

I usually don't try to influence anyone with colors, but I will say that I choose an interior color that is to light and gets dirty easy, so be carefull knowing that...

those are both beautiful, bob. thanks for sharing the links.
vinny, that black cherry is saucy! my roommate would die for that color.
i have also been thinking deep thoughts about this color combination.

how light is the upholstery in your car that was showing dirt? if i decide on ivory i would probably do a light interior but i don't want to have it all dirty right away. i already have a lexus IS that is a cosmetic mess. looking through the upholstery books i thought about doing a white, black or silver body with a dark dark purple interior but i am afraid it might look cheap and i want to avoid that.

Vince, just trying to improve the ratio around here. It's the least I can do.
Silver and deep red, about as 1958 as a button down collar shirt and saddle oxfords, and it works if you want an old school look.

yeah i feel really good about the silver and red. colin came over and told me no red interiors. always raining on my parade.
you have all been total gentlemen and very helpful. thanks a bunch. <3
Nobody else has mentioned it so here goes. Keep in mind (if you haven't already) what it will be like to get into an open car with a darker interior that has been sitting in the sun.
Annaliese:
The red interior in my car is not an orange red or pure red. There is more blue in it that darkens it a bit. Maybe more of a burgundy would suit you.
I figure you have exellent style and color sense, so whatever you do will be great.
Again, good luck and glad to have you aboard!

doug, i did think of that which is why i am still torn on colors. if black interior wasn't going to burn me and whatever friend i'm dragging around i think i would already be sold on silver ext black int. thanks for mentioning it though. <3
bob, as the owner of many red lipsticks i did note the blue tones vs orange tones and your red is lovely.
vinny ;) if i get my car ordered soon it should be a pretty fun summer.
