I filled my 2.5 gallon gas container to get ready for Winter (read snow blower needs fuel). This morning I walked into my garage to find a nasty and noticeable gas smell. This is the same smell I had to deal two weeks ago when I had the leaky sender. I thought that Shell was good gas but its just nasty. I don't remember gas smelling that that before. Is there a difference from one company to another? What are they putting in the gas?

Subbie engine with a Catalytic converter? Shell gas has high levels of nitrogen which produces a farty surfur smell. Try another brand.

LoL - Air cooled Speedies don't have NO stinking catalytic converters so not farty smell just the territory marking.
I found out about "Top Tier" gasoline from my egghead brother-in-law a month ago. He suggested that I consider using it. Shell is on the Top Tier list. Marty, I don't know where you live, but I do know that different areas use different formulations for their gasoline. I live above San Francisco, California, and I haven't noticed any bad odor from Shell gasoline. I usually buy mine from Costco, however.

And.....has anyone ever used this stuff?
Hey "Water Boy" maybe it's not the gas, perhaps your "IM" just stinks
Seafoam is good stuff. I've used it for years in the crankcase and gas tank.
Marty, could you please attach a scratch 'n' sniff sample to this thread so we can get a better idea of what you're smelling?
YA GOTTA SEND HIM A HORSES HEAD
BUT ITHINK HE IS RIGHT, ITS PROBABLY YOUR CAR AND THE PAPER PACKED IN THE SEATS
Rich, I'll get right on that.

Vinny- Enough of your boyfriend already!!
Come on "ALB" you gotta admit it, this guy is funny......it never gets old...
Don't you hate when grown men wear back-packs to draw attention?
What back pack?
What back pack?
Now that's scary right there...
And Vinny-fart jokes never get old; we'll be 80 and still get a laugh (much to our wives' disgust). Maybe your boyfriend's just too much man for me.
