Porsche certificate? Raced 47 years ago. Hmmm
I'm sure the Porsche Certificate is a birth certificate like VW gives out (or used to)that lists the manf date, color and options on the car. It certifies authenticity but not sure value if engine and trans are not same. Appears a solid car and for a genuine Speedster $79,500 is a "good" deal. I've seen them go for near 2 times that. The 60's Appliance mags really add a period look - I wasn't aware they even came in a wide five. Easy to go back to steel wheels if that's not your look. I'm sure they reduced unsprung racing weight by 60 pounds overall though. Where Jay Leno - he could add to his collection.
I saw that ad this AM and something about that car just doesn't look right...
I'll bet a donut that car started out as a coupe, before somebody went horribly astray with a sawzall.
dont know how they can call it a 55 when clearly its got a 60s front end. I agree that it probably started life as a coupe. Would look better with a "D" windshield IMHO
OK I see where the back parcel/seat area is gone. Even the coupes and the rare Karmann knotch back had open area there though.
Desecrated coupe for sure!
It has bee hives!

i don't know - i kind of like it.
the wheels and rear flair would be first on the block if it were mine though.
imagine that with a 1948 theme front end / bumpers / rear wheel arches / wheels:

With the way the rear end sits it needs a continental kit to really set it off.
I love hippo hump...no, not really.

IMHO - butt ugly! everything aft of the doors doesn't make sense, or maybe it's everything ahead of the back of the doors. Either way, just not right. Maybe I just have locked down in my mind what I think works, and I can't accept it.
Yep, fUgLy! The B/C front end with it's straight fenders just doesn't look right against a Speedster w/shield. It might not be as bad if it had the proper A front clip but I guess they used what they had back in the day. Making it look like #1 would be the only hope for this one.

The seller must have forgotten the decimal point between the 5 and the first 0.

Are they out of their mind? Over 49K for that POS with a VW motor? I'd like to meet the next buyer, I have property in Florida I need to sell. "Extremely rare car", hell it's extinct.
