That must be a very late car; the dash is pretty much the same layout as the Convertible D which followed right after the Speedster.

Traditionally, the knobs would be (left to right) for the wipers, headlights, (then key switch/ ignition,) and hand throttle. When Porsche went to the three large gauges they dropped the idiot lights from the dash and included most of them in the combination gauge.

They also dropped the starter button. I don't see one in the pic, I guess that it really is a late model.

But nothing is ever absolute with the 356 since Porsche would accommodate all manner of changes to suit their customers just to move the cars. At this point in time they had only been making production 356s in any number for six or seven years and were trying hard to build a customer base in America.
