i bought a magnaflow polished stainless steel 2.5" in and out on the same end. There are very little options if you want to run a sidewinder without doing the two mufflers and 20 feet of pipe around your motor.

IIRC - aircooled technology did extensive testing and found the 2.5" magaflow outperformed the 3" by quite a bit.
Tom - I just posted my thoughts of the Sidewinder Exhaust and the Magnflow muffler on another thread. Sounds throaty good, but not too loud. Keep in mind, I am running a 2180 with dual 44 Webers. Don't know what the sound would be like on a smaller engine, but probably would not be that different. I think Jim is running the 1915 and his sounds great. Matter of fact, his system is what sold me. Wait, you said you had the JPS big engine. I am not sure what Gerd is running for exhaust but his car sounds awesome with that same engine.
Tom,

You might want to try Tiger at A1 (714) 836-7201 I know he used to offer several different mufflers, and I know that Magnaflow makes a race series muffler that is straight through, although I don't know if they have that muffler with the inlet and outlet on the same side.

Obviously the stock exhaust we use on a 1600 isn't adequate for a larger motor, but it isn't that hard to get a different sound if that's all you desire...
i just picked up more stuff from tiger. I have to say - i buy a lot of stuff online and deal lwith international vendors all the time. He was one of the slowest. :( It's been almost a month and a half with no communication.

to be fair - he said (when i emailed him to see why it was taking so long) that he was swamped from the VW classic frantic people.

Bet prices though - buying directly from him.
I ordered Dansk High Performance Heater Boxes (Ceramic Coated) from Tiger when I got my new A-1 Headers. Tiger is modest, and he made me believe that they will look great (which they do) and only give out a moderate amount of heat(which they don't). Today I took an early evening cruise and the sun went down on the way home. I pulled the heater switch and opened my lower vents for the first time; I was totally impressed with the heat and the strength of which it blows. I was expecting much less and actually got more heat than the stock set-up.
