Were racing built cars in early '50 - pre-Porsche 550. Looks like the Perry Spyder on a full size chassis. $20k so not bad for a unique Spyder looking car.
It's not my cup of tea. Plus, I'm trying to imagine my lovely wife hiking her leg up over the door jamb, just tying to get into it. That will never fly. Might be good for a peep show now and again, but I imagine it'd be a one time event.
In my opinion, $20k is a bit aggressive for this one, but I'm still pretty new to this scene. Maybe that's because I'm hoping to find a 'project' for under 10k.
Thanks for the info,
Ted
My positive comment, with the long wheel base if should have a decent ride....
I'd roll it...
with a bag over my head. Fugly!
Corvair screws a 356??
It isn't a Perry as far as I know, they are actually uglier as far as proportions go. the Perry was trying for more of a 550 look but it is on a full size pan, which is what made the proportions so wrong. This one is actually better IMHO as it does kind of look like a Glockler, however being on a full length pan makes it impossible to proportion it the right way.
I say friggin ugly and no way! This guy has it on Spyderclub as well.
Most 550s are stretched a couple inches for legroom(including mine) from 83 to 85 inch wheelbase. Also, the rear fenders are a little higher arched than an original as the original car the Beck molds came from wasn't repaired 100% perfectly. Today you can get a more accurate rear clip, such is progress.
Anyway, sorry for drifting this but to return to the subject at hand I have one word: hideous!
I really like Glocklers, but I agree with you guys, too long.
Bugeye Sprite screws a Panamera.
Good observation, Bucket man.
