What tool is needed to press the snaps on the Top

I need to install all the snaps on the top and tonue cover but the tool that came with the CMC is damaging the tops of the snaps. What this tool is doing is, putting a dent in the top of the snap were it will be seen. Is there maybe a tool i can get at a local autoparts store or something?
