I got up around 10am, wandered into work, ran a few errands, had lunch with a few friends and then WENT FOR A SWEET CRUISE!!!

Thanks for coming by guys, it was a pretty cool having all that bling in front of my little restaurant. Remember now, you have to come again when the new place opens, I'm counting on you for my advertisement photo op!

Got up at 2:30a.m., was on the bike by 3am. Rode til 5:30, quick shower, a nap with Steve, then the work began.

Cleaned the blazer, moved 3 loads of stuff to storage shed, cleane the concrete on the RV pad and cleaned out the 120 sq. ft. gardent shed. Rode the tandem bike over to the storage unit, dropped it off, picked up another bicycle and brought it back.

Cleaned a 911 Colgan bra and took pics for a guy who wants to buy it.

But when I heard the Jets overhead, I dropped everything and ran out to see them as they blasted in a low flyby (celebration for vets). Said a prayer for those who fought and for those are fighting.

All I can say is wow! The food was great, excellent pick! The beer was cold and the company was enjoyable. Thanks for the great ride, sorry I had to cut things short but had to get home to my daughter.

Thanks again for the great meal, you shouldn't have!

Cory thanks for the tailgate up and back. Now you have to tell me how I can get right seater like the one you have, all I can say is WOW!

Greg the caps are great, can't wait to get them on.

It's always nice to cruise with such a great bunch of guys.
Brian "140 degrees" van Pelt -- the "right-seater" has the car today! How about that girl, huh?
I'm a lucky (watch my mouth!)!
I think yesterday might have put her over the top; she'll probably have that car out more now than I will; it might have been the flying lessons on Mickey's back-country route! We caught four-wheel air at least one good time, but there were a number of times when there were either front or rear tires off the ground.
Spongy brakes, my butt! There were parts of that circuit where I think I saw my own tail-lights.
Greg, you're a hard guy to keep up with -- don't know what you've got in there, but that car's as nimble as a mouse in a trap factory. Great skills, my man.
We have GOT to do that again. Next time, we'll have to get all the women-folk out, too. There looked like any number of spots on that drive to stop and break out a portable lunch.
And a covered bridge!
Mickey, as everybody said yesterday, the food was fantastic -- and we didn't sit there talking about the cars the whole time. Great conversation over lunch ... what a day!
Brian ... Thanks also for the cooler hose. Next time out, I'm sure my engine won't be hovering at the 240 mark the whole time.
I owe you one for sure.
Now, if I could find some more comfortable seats ...

Great pictures, BTW!

This one is how yesterday started for me; just got it from the e-mail. Old Keene Mill Rd., in Springfield, was just designated a Blue Star Memorial Highway -- honoring those overseas and their families. Apparently, garden clubs across America have the power to push these things and make them happen.
My cousins Frank and Linda asked me to come and lay the wreath; short ceremony, small wreath, but it took her two-and-a-half years to make this happen. They put Trista and I up for the night and we had a really good time -- not that y'all care, but this was one of our best weekends EVER.
Frank is retired Navy, with 30 years in and 20 of those at sea on destroyers. Linda (in red, below) is a huge supporter of our troops and active in the Springfield Garden Club.

I'm the skinny guy in white:

Got up, watch a bit of the news, got the ladder out and raised the Flag for those who fought and those still fighting. Watched some Memorial Ceremonies on TV. Let my thoughts drift back to Nam and those guys I served with and wondered what they're doing today. Read the paper and pondered the idea that our troops are fighting and dieing while young gang bangers are shooting and stabing each other. Wondered why Christians had been killing each other in Ireland because of denominations, wondered why Muslims were killing each other for the same reasons the Christians did. Decided there was just too much to wonder about so I burned a couple of hot dogs on the grill and watched the Marlins beat the Cubs. Closed the day by watching reruns of the Sopranos and then went to bed.
