Cory Drake?
He hates the format of this site, and he's pretty bitter about losing hundreds of pictures and a blow-by-blow archive of his build (back in the day), when the site switched from Theron's home-brew to hoopla, or whoever is hosting this one. I wish he'd get over it, but I'm his right-hand-man, so I can say that.
He's on FB, but not here.
This guy?:
Damn - that sucks! Looks to be pretty unique car.
Stan...could you at least post one pic of Cory in "full costume" as Cory drives around the Carlisle show area ? I didn't know you and Cory were close.
More - I thought I had him in the leather flight cap, goggles and flight jacket - darn.
Me driving the Hoopty to Manassas Bugout -
Cory dragging me off after I clashed the gears on a downshift -
I think he means;
I think Art is right. Will is too new to the SOC to have seen more than just a couple of Cory Drake's posts.
See that's why we use made up names - had someone said Hoopty or Newsguy there'd be no confusion.
Yep, I meant our Arizona weatherman/celebrity with the whitewalls (on his car).
That Cory...
OH! That cat... yeah? What happened to him? How hard can the weather be in Arizona right now? Sunny and Hot. Repeat.
I know we haven't heard from @PaulEllis either but then again he only wrote about fixing @Cory McCloskey 's car. LOL
Cory's car must be running real well and now him and Paul are driving all over Arizona.
Hey, you guys!
You're the nicest! I can't believe how inattentive I've been to all the goings-on here on the SOC, but, for the last two months or more, I've been ramping up to, and now cooling down from working every waking minute to pay for an early-April wedding. It's now a lovely memory, except for the bill, so I'll have some more time to get together with you good people... I miss you fellas!
@PaulEllis and I have been getting together pretty regularly, but I'm having trouble remembering what his face looks like, since he's nearly always underneath my Speedster... LOL He's a prince among men, as we all know, and he's done a TON of work on my tub since our last-chronicled adventures in wheel-bearing-removal some time ago. I shall soon, in a separate post, enumerate his many recent kindnesses.
We're presently awaiting the arrival of a new clutch cable...
On another note, I miss Corey Drake, too! Long before I purchased my Speedster, I was already lurking here, and followed, with much fascination, the transformation of Corey's amazing Hoopty from stock to Sebring, and always enjoyed his enthusiasm and style. I always think of him when I'm bundled up in sheepskin and goggles on a chilly morning ride...
So thanks, @Will Hesch, for inquiring about me! All is well -- I've just been so dang busy that I've fallen down on my posting...
More to come, boys! Thanks!
By the way, here's a photo of Paul in his natural state -- trailering my tub after I fried my distributor by unknowingly attaching my loose oil-pressure-sending wire to one of the distributor's empty connection tabs. I mean, here's a loose wire -- there's a free tab -- it MUST go there, right?
Save me from myself...
Sometimes we get to add premature patina to our cars by working on them.
I guess you had to have all the weathermen in for the wedding so with gale force they came and consumed not inches but gallons of Adams ale (rain) Ray
Oooops -- *Cory Drake, not Corey Drake...
I, of all people, should get it right!
...I, of all people, didn't get either right...
Cory, glad you're doing good, other than pocketbook cancer.
Are we still going to see you and Paul at the SLO shindig in June?
That's really funny... "Loose wire. Empty tab. I've got this... *poof*..."
Happens to all of us.
I just had a funny thought...
We need to start a thread of all the times our cars have ended up on the back of a flat bed. No drawn out stories. Just a quick blurb like the one above. Knowing that others have been there may help us to remember to keep things in perspective.
Ted
Cory (Drake) and Jenni are on the Carlisle list as usual. Good people.
TRP that would scare off some people
I guess I'll have to find the photos of Cory Drake in his "Hoopty" towing my son's truck and his trailer with Pearl on it at Carlisle......
That Speedster has some serious 'Nads......
Ted - et al.
I just started that topic (TRP Suggest Thread) on another thread!

@Cory McCloskey Eric is asking what brand of white walls your car is wearing.
