Please! The next time that anyone does a brake job or has the rear drums off of their swing axle based car, would you please shoot me a pic of what it looks like in there?

I've been searching everywhere about info on the oil slinger that's supposed to be in there, between the drum and bearing housing, right there in plain sight covering the housing and seal and outer spacer, but nobody seems to have ever seen one or knows anything about them. I have a pair of the earlier style that look like a metal ashtray with a cupped lip and a metal drain tube, I'd like to use the simpler later style that seem to be a simple large flat washer with an edge. But I'm not sure since nobody knows that they exist . . . they aren't even aware of the important function that they perform.

I desperately need some photos of the little sucker(s) so that I can make up a set, since they don't exist for sale anywhere.

Thanks SO much!

Jim,

That's the "washer" which sits between the bearing and the "O" ring. The "O" ring kinda fits inside the inner taper on the outer spacer. This "sandwich" all helps keep some of the oil in the tubes as does the outer most seal.

The washer, seal, large and small "O" rings and a cotter pin come in most quality kits. The slinger doesn't . . .

The slinger is the last line of defense. It sits between the outer seal and the drum and is much larger than the washer that comes in the kit.

So, you don't have an oil slinger in your assembly either, Huh?

Does ANYONE ! ? ! ?

Ooops! You are absolutely correct! That is the washer, not the deflector. Yes, I do have the oil deflector also, but I am not given to pulling a wheel and disk rotor just for the fun of it. I have checked my parts box and I do not have an extra. i would think any of the transmission builders would likely have these, they have virtually everything else....I have ordered "everything else" from one or the other including fulcrum plates, differential side gears, axles of several lengths, axle tubes, bearing plates, brake backing plates....I most recently (2 years ago) used Transform (562-435-2966) but someone says they are no longer in business.

Sorry for the bum steer!
