That was AWESOME Gordon!! What a hoot! Now we have to make him sing it for us at Knott's! How much beer do you think that will take?

You know, I once (many years ago) had a couple of gals remark at how ridiculous it was that I am a motorhead. They felt my energies of attracting the opposite sex would be much better spent if I were able to talk about clothes, shopping or my hair.

Clothes, shopping and hair are VERY important to me. Most guys appreciate those items, but it bores them to tears to hear about it. But always having handsome witty men to talk to because I know about cars is WAY more fun! Point is, if women genuinely like cars, there are alot of men who greatly appreciate that.

Including (or especially) my long suffering husband Steve... Who is currently in the garage overhauling a pair of 48 IDAs. By the way, if anyone is interested we have a very very nice pair of Zenith 3-barrels for sale.

Sometimes the stars align a little bit strangely.

After reading Angela's posts (and others from our lady members), I was driving home from a car meet late last night, on dark back roads, and listening to one of the "Outlaws" albums with Waylon, Kris and Willie, and they played this song, so I've modified it for Angela, Beth, Mary, Vickie and the other Speedster ladies on here - sorry, but I'm not all that good as a song writer:

Mama's Don't Let your Babies
(with apologies to Ed and Patsy Bruce)

Chorus
Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be cargirls
don't let 'em drive Speedsters and old pickup trucks
let 'em drive lexus, expeditions and such

Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be cargirls
cause they'll be wrenchin' on greasy ole engines
often well into the night

A cargirl can never be pleased
with the car that she has
and she'll always be lookin' for things
that'll give it more class
pegasus decals and meshed headlight stone guards
and Berg short throw shifters inside
when she wants to go somewhere
to find some contentment
she's at peace spendin' time on her ride

Chorus

a cargirl loves smokey ole garages
and long windy back roads
drives through deserts with stars
twinkling bright
she don't act like a barbi
women don't understand her
but for her she's peaceful inside

she's not wrong she's just different
and livin' her dreams
lovin cars for the pleasures they give
and she's always in touch with
that place where it seems
she can go where she really can live.
