I am considering selling my coupe and wanted to see if I could get some feedback on what you may think its worth.

Some of you may remember the thread I had on it (can't post there now?) ....built by JPS and completed in March 2015. Car is in perfect condition.

2110cc engine, air suspension, custom interior, custom stereo, AC.

Thanks for any feedback.

May I ask why you have decided to sell so soon?

As you can tell by the miles I barely drive it. In my defense it shares time with a couple of other cars I have. Then on top of that I keep it at my warehouse....so in addition to not driving it, I barely even see it.

Ultimately what I "think" I want to do is sell this car, and maybe another, then build a house with generous garage space so I never have this "problem " again. But I have to be honest whenever I walk in the warehouse and see it I just fall in love with it all over again....gonna be tough to let it go.

Move the coupe to the house and put something else in the warehouse; problem solved.

Move to the warehouse, so you can look at it all the time.

With air and those big wheels the car looks really different.....in a really good way.

Wise words being spoken here. One of these options must be do-able...

Brandon, that car is so bad ass looking but it may require a certain type of buyer that really appreciates the suspension and the killer tunes.  The lack of storage space would be a problem for some buyers.  One of the main reasons(besides the look) I would want a coupe would be so the wife any me could drive across the country with room to stuff a bunch of crap in the back seats.  That said, I would think an eBay auction or even a BAT auction should be in the low thirties.  In the end it's hard to say because of the uniqueness.  Troy and Alan, what say you?

As Marty said, Troy and Alan probably have the best market sense, since they sell lots of cars.  You may want to do a search on here.  I'm sure there's a way to pull up their sales.  Even with that info, your asking price would reflect the unique characteristics of being a coupe, air ride, stereo, etc.  Best of luck and please keep the group informed as you move forward.

To add to what Marty said; your car is a level above what most of us have dared to dream up. As such we have no basis to start our estimate.  If your car was a Speedster with similar amenities it might be easier to come up with a number.

Much respect goes out to you on your vision. I do have to ask why only 450 miles? Any issues with the suspension or motor which have kept you from enjoying it more? Is it well sorted?

If i had more coin...

Price:  Put it up for what you have in it, and hope for the best.  Not sure what JPS would get for a "regular" Coupe with the 2110, but that would be a starting point.  The car is essentially new. $35K??  I have no real good idea.

And I agree w/ some of the other free advice you've gotten here: your priorities are definitely skewed.  You need to get that car in your garage, or go live in the warehouse.  Just sayin' . ..

Sorry, but the only JPS coupe I have any experience with was Gerd's.  I helped him create an eBay ad in 2013 and I think it sold for $25,000, but I could be wrong.

Troy, wasn't the market still pretty soft at that time ?

I think Lane is spot on with the north of $45k  IMHO it's a beautiful coupe with the right "eyes" but there will be a limited market when one gets into those numbers.           The good thing is you don't have to wait a lifetime dancing to the Tennessee Waltz and waiting to have it built or wondering what became of your hard earned funds  or.....those notorious unanswered phone calls from the Left. . I believe that the car will bring $38.5 - $39 k.

Its well sorted.....runs and drives good. No issues, as stated in a previous post, I just don't drive it much.

I believe your asking price comes down to how fast do you want it gone?

For instance, there are some Speedsters and coupes currently for sale that have been for sale now for 6+ months.  And, as we saw this week, the silver speedster offered for sale in SoCal sold in one day. The reason is the price. Those sitting for months are all $30,000+. The silver speedster was priced at $20,000.

Your vehicle may be harder to sell (or easier) because it's so unique and modified. That narrowered down your audience. That said it also separates it from the pack.

Regardless, good luck with it. I'm sure you have a lot of money and passion involved with the build.

Yes, it was soft in 2013.  That and the fact that I really only have experience with Speedsters is why I don't feel qualified to to give an opinion.

@Brandon  - Your coupe takes bad-assery to a whole 'nutha level! If I were to build a coupe, it would look (and bagged) exactly like yours!

If you're not in a hurry to sell your car, no need to 'give it away' for a low ball price. Perhaps the auction route would be best. One of our nefarious SOCers (and good friend of mine, Vince Manto) sold his wide-body at a Mecum Auction.

At this auction, it eventually sold for $33K ($6,000 over his 'reserve'). The price it sold for surprised 'many' on the SOC. This was in 2013 when the Speedster market was 'soft'.

I believe the 'Bad-A$$' look of your car on an auction block would generate similar excitement!

Vince's sale did raise the bar for Speedster sales and it was an exciting event to watch. I don't know what his reserve was, but It actually sold for $30,000.

Jim and i are in the same boat.  you have a wicked car!

Seriously - owning a car that makes your heart flutter when you see it is not an easy thing to do.  you can't just go buy one at the dealer.  That said - i hear you on the garage front.

I haven't been following the replica market, nor do i even live in the US of A, but i know value of time and i built my car, so i know what it takes to do it right.  don't sell yourself short on that beast.  she's top shelf.

Actually, you're both right; the video says it "Sold for $30,000 plus buyer fees of approximately $3,000"

True, but Vince didn't get the full $30,000 either.   Mecums skims off a pretty big chunk.
