I am building a chesil speedster and wondered what offset replica 356 wheels I should buy, I know they are 5.5" x 15" but not sure of the offset or if most of the manufacturers use the same offset.

Which stud pattern are you going for? 130-4 or 205-5?
It makes a difference as the wide-5 pattern (205-5) wheel typically has less offset so tyres are a tighter fit with the body work.
From memory (and you can do a search here as i've posted this before) Mangel steel wheels were.
130-4 5.5x15 ET 25, 205-5 5.5x15 ET 15
130-4 4.5x15 ET 45, 205-5 4.5x15 ET 25
You used to be able to special order ET 25 wide-5 wheels from CSP in germany (I have a set).
Today I run with sprintstar replicas rims which are 5x15 ET 14
These squeeze on with CT22 165R15 tyres.
My 5.5x15 ET 25 rims fitted with wider 195/60R15 tyres.

I am using 130 x 4 stud pattern.
The reason I asked is that vwheritage sell chrome replica wheels and baby moon hub cabs for a LOT less than Chesil.
I would help if Chesil could supply me with a build manual, but they seem to have run out !

I'll try and scan in my old build manual and get it online - that legal entity doesn't exist anymore (was wound up in the high court) so I don't see an issue with doing that.

Gentlemen-don't know about Chesils, but click the "Library" tab at top of page for some CMC build information. Don't know about similarities, just a "heads-up".

Do you know who Chesil use for their leather suppliers.. and trimmers ? i would like to get my own seats and have them re-trimmed
