Wheel sugestions for flared ?

Hello All,
I've got a flared CMC, and was wondering what others have done for Rims ?
I have the 4 bolt pattern, and am getting ready to put Disc brakes on, it would be a good time to change the pattern, if I'm going to.
Most of the VW and Porsche wheels don't look like they will "fill" the wheel wells. I currently have the standard CMC gold/silver rims.
I'm toying with the idea of using wheel adaptors, and going to a chevy 5 bolt pattern. yes ,I know some people think they are unsafe.
Thoughts ? suggestions ?

The Porsche Fuchs wheels look good on those cars. Of course selection of the width (they come in different widths) is crucial to the look of the car. I suggest you research Fuchs wheel sizes before you decide.

I like the Fuchs look as well. Mine at 16x8 on the rear , 16x7 on the front. I'm also using the 4-bolt to 5-bolt adapters which pushed the wheels out an additional inch. They fill the wheel wells perfectly and don't rub at all.

I have always like the original chrome wheels but for the flaired car they are of course to narrow. I decided the cost to build this type of wheel was worth it to me. The photo shows the proposed configuration but the wheels will be chromed with nipple caps and taller tires.

Maintain the rich Porsche look with Fuchs wheels - wide variety of sizes and styles available plus there are decent priced reproductions. You can get the new disc brake rotors pre-drilled for the 5 bolt Porsche pattern. Pre-drilled matching rear drums are also available. Spacers are available for that bolt pattern too. I like that Whale tail!

I dunno 'bout everyone else, but the CenterLine Wide Fives look sweet on a Speedster ... IMHO.

With those Centerline wheels on Hoopty, it's got "Bonneville Salt Flats" written all over it. Wouldn't that be a cool trip, especially during "Speed Week". Hmmm...

BTW- if you haven't seen it already, try to catch the movie "World's Fastest Indian" starring Anthony Hopkins. It's about an old timer from New Zealand (Hopkins) trying to realize his lifelong dream of racing his 1920's Indian Motorcycle for a record on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Very enjoyable movie I'd recommend to anyone who loves to drive fast (probably no one on this website - LOL)!

Tim, If you like the looks of the Centerlines, I have a set with tires, screw in studs and nuts in the 4 X 130 bolt pattern that have never seen the road.

Buy the drilled chevy 4-3/4 bolt pattern rotors from Rick Oliver at www.vwsplace.com . Using the aluminum casted 5 bolt adapters is not recommended.

Tim, I love the whale tale on your car! I'm thinking of utilizing one of the rubber edged ones on my own ride. Kind of an odd question, I guess, but . . .

What are the comments like when you show the car?

I totally love the look, and the wide body almost demands it in a way, but I also know that it can be a polarizing style element.

Just wondering . . .

People either love the whale tail, or hate it ...
There doesn't seem to be much middle ground.
It is the only one I have seen on a Speedster.
I would love to add one of those hard tonneau's with the "humps".
