had a shake in the wheel from 62-69, the sweet spot on the highway. Wide 5's with new tires balanced by previous owner with new tires on it, nobody around eastern mass has a machine or adapter, so I tried the "magic" beads which helped very little, broke tires down by hand and used the shop vac to get them out, bought a harbor freight bubble balancer which the platform is too small as the wheel can fall thru it, made a aluminum plate to put on balancer, zeroed it out then put each wheel on the plate, triple checked the bubble then used the newly acquired stick on weights and yes betty there is a santa claus. Took it out to the highway and brought it up to 70 with optimistic but guarded expectations and viola the heavens opened up and the bluebird of wheel balance took a dump on my shoulder... no shake no shimmy just a **** eating grin on my face. Made a "dial indicator" out of 2x4 and a sheetrock screw on floor to check trueness of tire rim combo seemed fine, sometimes a guy with too much time on his hands gets lucky
