Hope everyone has had a Happy Holiday Season so far...

I'm to the point in my build that I need to shop for tires and wheels.

I am building a Streetbeast Speedster C (CMC-C), IRS w/ standard drums & Ball Joint with Ghia discs.

The look I want is....

Low profile, but not extreme, 17" or 18" if the price is right.
"Deep Dish" as much as possible (may require redrilling the drums & disks for a new pattern so I don't have to use adapters)
Wide in the back, slightly thinner up front.
I like the "Gunmetal" look in the center of the wheels.

From my measurements...

Rear: 245/35/17 or 245/30/18 (255's probably would go but, the wheel offset would have to be perfect)

Front: 205/40/17 or 205/35/18 (May be able to go wider but, I don't want to risk it)

I have the following questions that some of you can maybe answer or offer advice:

1. Could someone with a CMC-C or SB give me the following measurements: tire size, backspacing (w/ adapter thickness), and clearance left at the fender lip and the frame/suspension.

2. How the heck do you shop online for wheels when a 55' Porsche Speedster Replica with Fender Flares doesn't show up on their search lists? Geez!

3. What information does a vendor need? Will they let you take a wheel and tire home to try out?

4. If I'm forced to use adapters or spacers what are the best to use?

Thanks in advance!

Is this the C2 or the CMC-C width? I have the drum IRS rear and ghia discs front. I rim the Fuch 16x7 Rear and 16x6 Front. They are the standard 80s 911 Fuchs.

You can see them at 'Files', 'Members', 'Sweet CMC'. I run 225 50s rear and 205 50s front. The front are spaced out to fill the wheel well. The rears are really snug. I am deciding that I'm lowered too much in the rear. If you look at the Cal-look guys, they all run the rear up a little. It is a slight auesthetic compromise, but I believe it is well worth it in function.

I do run 4VW to 5 Porsche wheel adapters, and 5/8ths spacers in the front.

Someone posted the offset for the Fuchs a while back. Maybe they can redirect us to it. My wheels are th 16J7 and 16J8s. If not, I can pull a wheel and measure the backspacing.
