This is the last picture I have from the Carlisle weekend.
I'd love to see more from other folks -- Lane, thanks for taking the time!
Interesting, I took this image, as posted above. ;)

That must be why I lick windows from time to time.
Nice shot there, Syl! My caption has been corrected!
Sorry 'bout that. I went through the phone camera today and saw that -- I must have copied it to the phone since the show.

I just love the bright Orange car that looks like an Orange Cream Soda.
Truly different and stunning!
Who owns the car?

Dave, It belongs to a fellow from Maryland. The color is a Lamborghini orange. Really pretty in the sun light.

Yeah, that paint is incredible. It's a three-stage paint job that looks like you could dive into it and swim around. VERY nice!
Yep high end looking and I am sure cost a perty' penny ~
New York's Run Fish self built flared speedster was simply stunning...!

Um, I think that's "Ron" Fish, Alan ;-)
Kinda early to be drinkin', ain't it?
Here's a wholely inadequate picture of "Run's" car.
EDIT: The second one is a frontal shot from 2008

Still working on the morning's V8 juice ~
I wish I had a picture of the woodwork that Barry Crone put in his car. It makes what I did look ameturish. He has mahogany running on the top of both doors and replacing the dash roll on his car. What's really special is how he made the door parts flare out to blend into the dash. It's all very nicely fitted together and looks gorgeous. Barry, got any pictures?
Lois and I enjoyed our time with all of you at Carlisle. Thanks for being so hospitable to us. We'll keep you posted when we decide on a car.
Hanging with this gang, we become one big extended family ~
Only hanging with you all is way better than hanging with my older Brother and Sister, believe me.....
Man, can I "relate" to Gordon's comment. Only in my case it;s the older sister!
Remember...good friends are the family you pick!

Barry Crone sent me some photos of the woodwork in his car. Take a gander at this. Incredible, huh?

Yikes! That is some beautiful work. BTW, is that a locking steering column I see?
Yes but it was in the car when I bought it so I don't know what year or model it's from

If you saw Barry's work up close you'd agree it's better craftsmanship than I've seen on a lot of high-end luxury cars!!
I think I'll have everyone's picture contributions (via US snail & e-mail) by tomorrow. Then its (Pineapplehead) production time for the 2010 SOC at Carlisle. Should have it done by mid-week for posting!
Peace - Out!

Thought you guys might want to know that Glenn and I made it home in the "CREAMSICLE". Stopped twice to blow out jets, second stop had to return to I83 so we found a great road for a Speedster Cruise - Maryland 25. Cory may know it. Sure would be fun without the rain and to be running on all four. We took both carbs out, took off manifolds, rebuilt the carbs, made new head gaskets, took of 3/4 carb again and blew out #4 jets and transition ports. (40mm Dells)Boy it runs great now.
It's easy to forget about the transition ports. When I finally cleaned mine out it made a world of difference.
"Creamsicle", huh? Good name. See you next year, if not sooner.

Actually the red Speedster was pretty fast, too. In fact, Einstien's theory of relativity (the special one, I think) postulates that objects grow shorter as they approach the speed of light. You can see the effect in the first picture.
Who's the old bald guy strangling Danny?
Who's the old bald guy strangling Danny?
So one story has it that the red Speedster passed Danny so quickly that he sprained his neck from looking at it approach in his rear view mirror to it passing him (WOOSH). Objects are indeed smaller than they appear in some rear view mirrors. The other story has something to do with a victim of bumper car pile up on turn 3 of the slick track. Believe what you will. Blue painter's tape was readily at hand - couldn't find a large enough hose clamp though. Henry kept muttering - "Why do all these east coaster all carry a roll of blue painter's tape with them?"
Good thing there weren't any lawyers present. Howard did pass out his card though.

Lane, you can't recognize yourself unless you are holding either a) a beer, or b) Oban!
Man, my neck is better, but it still ain't 100% right. Then again, neither are the thoughts in my head!

I recognized myself. I just didn't want to admit it. I need one of Jim's fuzzy hats.
Just noticed the title on the lightspeed Speedster pic. I see Greg had the same idea.

Great shots Bill.....
Nice work Bill. Hmmmmmmmmm! Cheesecake covered with chocolate on a stick. Now there's a concept. Yum! Better than chicken pot pie any day.
Bill,
Love that first shot there -- great wax job!!
;-)
PS: My idea for the orange car was "The Pumpkin" or possibly "The Great Pumkin". In any event, we NEED to have that car lead the Pumpkin Run this Fall -- gotta have it!

Question for Paul Holden:
One of the guys I work with lives in Belle Alton (Hope I spelled that right; near White Oak, Va.) -- and said to me today, "Hey, I saw a car like yours a couple days ago, 'cept it was orange, like a Lamborghini. It had a roll cage and ..."
I showed him a photo of you car from the show.
"Yup. It looked exactly like that. It was for sale, too!"
Since you've got the only orange Speedster I've ever seen ... how about it?
Is Miss Marmalade on the market in Virginia somewhere, or is there a second one?
Enquiring minds want to know!
