I just went out and took a good look at the sill tread in my CMC (realizing, of course, that CMC often went out of their way to use cheap stuff), but it sure looks a lot to me like kitchen or bath under-counter, toe-kick baseboard, like the stuff in the flooring dept. of Lowe's and Home Depot. If not that, then rubber stair tread material.

Maybe Dr. Clock has different ideas, but if it was trimmed/fitted right, no one could tell what it was meant for, other than a car. I think it's also available in a few colors, not just black.

There was a recent thread about this. The stuff used on skateboards was mentioned along with other alternatives.

The skateboard stuff is like an emory faced stickey-tape. More like the non-skid stuff they use on some boats, whereas the stuff used on most sills is more like a rubber mat.

I think Gordon is right on the rubber cove moulding - looks like they used the inside as the outside.

Just for the hell of it, I can swing by Lowe's later today and see if they have something similar and report back.

Besides, it's "day-after-the-weekend super-clearance day" and I might find something else I don't need.
