So far I've had my insurance and registration with me in my wallet. But I think it should stick with the car in case my wife takes her out.

My RFID toll device (FastTrak) and garage door opener is hidden discreetly under the dash, but accessible enough.

My front plate is under the passenger floor mat (if that ever matters).

Where else do you all hide your stuff? I know none of the above is foolproof, but at least it doesn't scream "take me!"

What is even easier is to take a photo of your registration and a photo of your insurance card. You and your wife can both have the photos stored in your phone in a separate folder so you could access it quickly if either of you are stopped for some reason. There is no requirement that you actually have the papers in the card. Just proof of either one.  This also prevents anyone from stealing the papers from your vehicle.

I keep a zip lock (heavy duty) bag and stick all the important papers needed next to the battery up front. I also keep a small back pack and stick it in the trunk with anything of value.

But, I recommend you never drive your speedster with anything of value left behind. The full tonneau cover closed at all times...most people admire these cars and won't touch them. Don't trust that last statement though!

I have often thought of installing a pretty good size rectangular marine door in the wall  of the rear seat area. That void between that wall and the actual firewall in the engine compartment is huge and wasted space (assuming you don't have the oil cooler mounted in there). These doors can be made to lock too. They can be painted to match the carpet color. The door wouldn't show when the top is down either. A form (plug) would have to be made to form the box that would be installed and glassed in. I probably would angle it down a little so things wouldn't fall out when I opened it. Another nice thing is the door has an O-ring seal to keep out water. West Marine sells these doors..........Heck I'm thinking it could be big enough to have a Bar in there !..............Bruce

On my VS, since the seat bottoms are velcro'd on, I would put my papers under the passenger seat bottom (I do like the idea of photos).  I would put the front plate under the rear seat, since it was flat.  Put Velcro on the back of my garage door opener and put it on the left side of the drivers seat, Velcro sticks well to the carpet, so I could just reach down and press.

I keep my registration and plate under the back seat.  I strap the registration to it with one of those visor registration holders  you by at PEP BOYS..   works great!

Had to pull it out a few weeks ago as the California Highway Patrol "OBSERVED,"  by lydar radar, that I was doing 80 in a 65 ........... ....   and Pat Downs told me my speedo was off by 7-10 MPH...  NOPE!!   100% accurate it is!!
