If your referring to the newer beauties from the Canadian operation, try hell when it freezes over. They are really tough to come by. First they cost somebody a lot of money. Second, the production volume is very-very low. Third, it's pretty hard to pry one away from it's owner. The best place to look may suprisingly be Intermec. I hear Henry does have a used car every once in a while. This site is the largest exchange on replica speedsters and look how often we see one!

I've been to hell (it is an open air dirty fish and dead animal market in Mauritius in the peak of summer there). I don't want to go back. With replicas numbering in the thousands out there, I would have thought there would be more traffic in them...hmmm

Mike, there is a lot of replica traffic, but usually it is in VS, CMC, and Fibrefab Speedster replicas on VW pans as evidenced by all of the listings you see on Ebay.
Your best bet for an IM (as already mentioned) is probably to keep in touch with Henry Reisner at IM. Your wait will probably be longer for a tube-framed Speedster as most of the IM cars built in the last few years have been convertible "D"s.
Good luck - the wait will be worth it if you find a well maintained used IM.

Thanks George. I will keep researching and browsing to see what exactly I want in one...then hit them up.

Two and a half years ago when I bought my IM there was four IMs for sale in the Vancouver area. Henry was selling two of them for past customers. Since then there has been next to nothing for sale. There are a fair number of IMs running around the lower mainland (Vancouver) and they do come up for sale, but they go VERY fast. Latest was a 1997 with a 2110 etc., that went for $32,000 Canadian.

Vancouver definitely has the largest concentration of Intermeccanicas. Last I talked to Henry he figured that there were between 20 and 30 around the lower mainland. I looked at 4 in town before I bought mine and I was the only person that called about mine. My car was listed in the local paper, the buy and sell - www.buysell.com/ possibly the Vancouver Sun may have listings as well. I bought my car 4 years ago things maybe different now.
I think they are, Bruce. When I bought mine (2 1/2 years ago) there seemed to always be a least one for sale in the Auto Trader etc., and some sat unsold for a long time. That's not the case anymore...unless it's in really bad shape.
