Where to put the water

Hi, I'm a newbie and I can't, for the life of me, find the radiator cap on these cars. Where do you put the water? Should I just mix it with the gas, or maybe the oil? Does it mean anything when the temperature thingie goes into the red zone? I've heard that's where it should be in normal driving. Also, should smoke pour out of my engine compartment, or is this normal for one of these air cooled engines? Also, I took off that stupid fan belt, because it was making too much noise and I couldn't hear my cell phone conversations. I'm very new at this and could use your wise, thougthful advice.

My dear Mr. O'Black,
When I get back to tan-ah-see from Connecticut, I will post a digi-pic which shows exactly where to put it. In the meantime, as I bask in the after glow of meeting two "Speedstah guys" from R.I., Gordon and John, I will endeavor to make a safe return to my home twenty. I think that your concerns are relevant and well placed. Hang in there guy. Pretty soon you will be just one of the boys on the board. It is clear to me that you are a real car guy :-)

All kidding aside, I would like to see this section of the forum be used for when new owners/enthusiasts want to introduce themselves. Or be used for when new members post introductory pictures of their cars, it provides a good way for the rest of us to comment on their cars, ask questions, etc.

I would think that general/technical questions, comments, etc. would still be directed to the other appropriate forum sections.

It is a good thing and it will give new members a place to ask what they think are 'dumb' questions (but we know are not). A good place to get their feet wet, so to speak. Having said that, I have to say that this automotive forum is one of the nicest that I've been on. Nice people that don't 'flame' others for their questions, etc. Many, many times I've wanted to 'flame' Robert for his dumb questions, but I held my tongue (and kept my fingers away from the keys). And it's paid off. Robert seldom askes a dumb question anymore! We are proud of you, Bobby!

Where were all you guys this past weekend? Henry and 11 other Intermeccanicas spent the weekend in Whistler with about 150 Porsches including 4 real 356s. We waited around for the rest of you guys, but none of you showed up.

It was actually pretty cool. All the Porsches were already parked in Blackcomb village when 12 IMs drove through the gate, down through the parked cars, and lined up in the center of the village. Of course the other Ron wasn't invited cuz he had to stay home and try to put water in his car...
