Hey! Just like those two little Martian rovers, Hoss is still on the air!
He called about mid-afternoon, Knott's time, to tell me that he's having a great time, and that the Suby-Tub (He's gotta get a cool name for that car, now) won the award for "Best Convertible 'D' Speedster".
Jim Ward won for "Best Speedster"
Angela and Steve won for "Best Spyder" (Isn't that two years in a row for them??) and he said that they deserved it - that Spyder is one gorgeous machine.
Then I asked who he's met and he rattled off about a dozen names and couldn't think of the rest.
He mentioned that he had met Henry Reisner, but between the seminars, meeting/talking with people and tinkering on people's cars Henry's been pretty busy. I don't know if Steve from SAW is there or not (I didn't think to ask).
He should be heading back on Monday....Mark Otero has made it to Knott's and should be running along with him as far as Barstow, and Jim Ward is "maybe" accompanying him as far as OKC, although Jim has not yet decided to do that, or to make a Monday trip to CB Performance, just for looks and to meet Pat Downs, and then head East.
As far as mid-afternoon, the rain had held off and everyone was having a great time. Temps are moderate there, as opposed to last year's 104 (F) swelter that wilted everyone. Then we got interupted mid-conversation by someone firing up a T-4 just next to John, so we had to stop and listen to that for a minute........sounded pretty good, even over the phone!
They were all heading out this evening to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner, and so far he's met a LOT of people he "knows" from the forum, but is still having a hard time putting faces to names. (I remember that trouble from Carlisle last year, too. More Beer seems to help! - gn)
So the little Suby that could is still hangin' in there and Hoss and Sarah are having a great time, along with all the other SOC folks at Knott's!!
