Hi All:

I am a newcomer here so please be gentle. I am interested in purchasing a Beck 550 Spyder. Two manufacturers I am looking at are:

Thunder Ranch and Chuck Beck Motorsports. Any opinions as to their level of craftsmanship and customer service? What was your purchasing experience with either one of them? I hase talked to the two of them and both seem to be on the up and up.

Thank you in advance.

Do check out Vintage Spyders too.

I think they are the best turn key cars.

Also consider a used spyder, Look in the classifieds here at spyderowners.com
and at
spyderclub.com

and ebaymotors.com search for "550 spyder"

this one is a steal at $26,000 she's a "10"

I've had the opportunity to view both manufacturers facilities & finished vehicles. I would suggest making the purchase from Beck Motorsports. I live in San Diego and am located close to Thunder Ranch (El Cajon). But making the 100 mile commute (one-way) to Beck Motorsports is something I won't regret.
Some food for thought. Both TR and Beck produce the Beck Spyder, however, Beck imports their cars from Brazil while TR makes frames and bodies locally for upgrades, the local mfgr. seems to be a more logical approach. For some a drive to the LA area once a week or so maybe ok. For others, being close to your car while being built is also ok.

Thank you all for the good responses. I have talked to three owners of Chuck Beck Motorsports product and they all rave about the quality of product and customer service.

I will be driving up to Cleveland from Louisville and check out a recent owner's car from Chuck Beck Motorsports. Will keep you posted.
Aloha Juan,

I purchased my Beck this year and am very happy. I flew to LA to test drive a car with Chuck Beck before I made my decision to purchase and then flew in again to drive my car prior to having it shipped to Hawaii. Dean and Greg at CBM have treated me wonderfully, always answering phone calls and e-mails and standing 100% behind the product.

I had quite a few add-ons and Russ @ Fibersteel took care of everything personally. He even met me at CBM's facility to show me everything he had done and to ensure that I was happy with the finished product.

The Spyder is truly a work of art.

I have also purchased some products from Greg @ Vintage and Dario. Both of them have treated me very well. They did what they said they would and their products exceeded my expectations.

Best of luck,
Ken
