I have been all over the forum trying to find oil filter info. Too many opinions. I have been using Napa gold but have read good things about the K & N filters. Is the HP2005 the correct # for out vehicles?
What Ron said. Napa is made by Wix. The 1515 traps smaller particles 20 vs 60 microns) than the race version and has more than enough flow (7-8 gallons/minute) for our engines.
Here we go again...I'm using a Mahle filter which came with the new engine. I'll probably end up using the NAPA/WIX filter since that's all that's available within 40 miles. Hope they have the right size...I'm not too impressed by them so far. Like someone here said, "I don't know sh!t, but I know more than that guy".
I walked into the local Napa parts store in this part of the world (Reibes) and asked for the 51515R wix and the 1515 gold. The guy at the counter said "see the sign?" Unadvertised oil filter sale. 51515R@$5.00 and 1515@$3.00.
