It seems the same.

Ron, Engine is 2332cc and 1835cc/Only as much as it's worth, some people like to rip you off/Solong as it's quite enough without loosing performance, it is a sports car not an off roader. Yea Ron I'm building 2

I would like to know what you think of the Stainless one from China @ $297.93 ?

Well, only 2 days left before first body arrives, I will take pics to

Robb:

That Chinese S/S exhaust has exhaust pipes way too small for your 2332.  A 2332cc engine should be looking at 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" diameter exhaust pipes (minimum) to the heads and a header collector output of around 3".  Putting that small system on either of your engines will severely restrict the exhaust and make the car run like a slug.

I'm not hung up on either A-1 or tri-mil, but there must be someone in Europe building collector exhaust systems that will fit VW Beetle sedans.  If they fit a sedan they'll probably fit a Speedster (or at most need a little tweaking).

Otherwise, Tri-Mil, A-1 or Berg systems are all pretty good and would work well in BOTH of your cars.

As Gordon said, tubing size will depend on the engine and it's powerband. On a 2332, 1 1/2" primary tubes will only go to about 5300rpm, 1 5/8" will go to 63-6400rpm and 1 3/4 will go to 7300. If the engine is designed to rev to 5500 or 6000rpm with power then 1 5/8" is the proper size. It's really important to size the exhaust to the size and powerband of an engine; too small and it will fall flat and choke before it's peak, and if it's too large the engine will be down on torque in the bottom end/midrange, affecting where we spend most of our time on the street (and mileage will be down as well). Too large on a bigger engine isn't so bad, but on anything sub 2 liter it's critical.

This info comes from a header size chart taken from the Feb 2012 of Hot VW's-

Well thanks Gordon n ALB, I didn't go for the Chinese one, I thought it was to small to, I'm gona make my own now, i was looking for a design and found one by mistake on here, a guy had one built from an exhaust guy for his Spider, 4 boxes, I now gotta go buy some more tubing cos my headers won't be big enough 1-1/2, I'll try for 1-3/4 if I can get it bolted in, I got loads of time, I'll have to get my Hot VW's mag out again hahaha. I really appreciate this, my brain isn't what it used to be.

Yeah, getting the exhaust gasses from the heads to the collector is only half the problem - the other half is stuffing one or two decent mufflers under there and creating the pipe contortion to connect everything.

My Gene Berg system (1-5/8" exhaust pipes) gives me great power for a 2,110cc, but the collector and both mufflers (left and right) hang down below the rear valence.  Fine if you like the look, ugly if you don't, but great torque and a very nice growl under power.
