Anybody interested in discussing how to run the Tour d'Smo next year?  Again, some off-hand discussion has been had about moving the venue; not modifying the basic format of the days, time of year or the all driving all the time as fast as you dare vibe. All seem to agree that having a local host who knows the roads and can plan the cruises is what makes the thing kick,  Some say there are apps for that . . . really?  In any event, I heard tell . . . so if there are any decent ideas about where and how to relocate, maybe we should open that box, and see what's inside?? @Lane Anderson

Well, we could "replay" early Carlisle event of building a complete red Beck.  But this time a black CMC!  Only needs about 40 hours of work (no not those 40 CMC hours)- so for 10 experts, that's "only" 4 hours each.  If time is left over a repaint in stone grey or that nice molten grey color would be nice too.  I know of such a car!  Just think of the bonding possible!  And joy of seeing owner driving it into sunset (which is in the SOUTH --- West).

Are egg samiches still available at Carlisle?  What were results of the valve cover races?  Any outstanding SOC entries.

As for: "There's really nothing there for us any more.", well to some extent, that's on us.  If we cannot bring with us what there would be, with the Saturday Showfield as an optional side show, then indeed we have nothing to find there by coming.  Seems like the Cruise and Schmooze aspects are the ones that matter, and I think there has been more of that lately, but informally -- only the cool kids know about it.  Actually, we seem not to have any trouble with the schmooze part, provided there is enough whiskey. So maybe the idea is to organize formally and have at least a two level Cruise part -- Sedate and Spirited. Multiple days also, like Tour d'Smo: travel Wed drive Th and Fri. run the cruises either concurrently or sequentially.  Thoughts??

Re: the Banquet, I know that's a big headache to arrange, conduct as entertainment, and pay for. As a central focus for our (once upon a time) large group, I like it better than the ad hoc, just go find a McDonalds somewhere with whomever will go with you, and grab some food.

So, ideas . . .
