looks beautiful.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get over black wheels. Screams “fleet vehicle” to me. (And to do it to Vintage 190’s. Sacrilege)
Now you kids get off my lawn.

@dlearl476 How about blue then, to match the rear darts?

Color matching wheels reminds me of the 1960's base model Chevy models.

^ That. All day long, that.
I know some of you like them - just like some people like a red car with a red interior with a red top and red carpet.
To my untrained eye - if it's not a putty gray or flat black car, I'm not a fan of black wheels.
I can't think of a circumstance where I'm inclined to color-match the wheels to the body.
Harrumph!

I'm in lockstep with you on this one, buddy. I'm not a big fan of black wheels, but they're better than body-color, that's for sure.
Wheels need to be some shade of silver. It's just the way of things.

Lane, my friend - you do you. You rock whatever wheels you want. It's a big tent, you're a big man, and your car is a distillation of all you like.
I'm so glad you got the thing that ticks all your boxes.
We're just jawbonin' here. I can't wait to see your ride this September.

As I’ve previously posted, Ernie, the FoaF who used to Auto-X a 550 BITD, found in the course of his Cabriolet restoration, body-colored wheels were a factory option.
I’m much less averse to body-colored wheels than black ones. (Of course Ernie’s car is black).

We all loves ya, Lane, blue wheels and all...
And what about all those silver speedsters with body coloured wheels?

I worked hard to make sure they contrasted in some way.
I think it is dependent on the body color to some extent. I don't know why, but to my eye it occasionally works. Lane's is an example of when it is appealing.
Maybe the more a car is outlawed, stripped of chrome, badging etc. body colored wheels can make a positive difference to my eye at least.
Minimalist outside, beast under the hood!
