Have the black CMC (the 3 VDO) and the dash is black. Would prefer white if anyone wants to swap. New, never used. Cheers

Just clarification - CMC pushed their six $325 odd ball size "Vintage" reproduction gauges - they were made by Johnson Controls. They came in white face/silver bezel, black face/black bezel (below) and ivory face/brass bezel. Are your three actually 914 VDO gauges - the tach is larger at about 4"? I can't remember if CMC had a replica 356 green face set of gauges?
If yours are 914 gauges - there are white face kits for $30 (or less). There are also chrome bezels available $125ish. The 914 gauges are solid accurate gauges so worth keeping over China repros.

Theses folks make white plus many other colors. Fit VDO 914 gauges.
Hi!
Thanks for the info! Wolfgang, mine are more like the lower ones you showed. Black on black with the tach larger. Not too cool on the dark gray dash and black eye brow (car was originally red).
I'll have a look at the faces and 914 gauges. Thanks!!!
Good thing is I haven't cut the hole for the tach yet. The previous owner cut the other two but not the tach. I'll scope out a set of 914 gauges and buy the white face. They'll match the off-white knobs etc. Thanks a million!
You probably already have the 914 if it has the larger tach - send me picture if unsure. They probably have a date stamped on back from '69 to '76 and a 914 part number with that in the code. If you need set of gauges I have few extras. Early ones have glass lenses and a silver dot in middle - later 74 up ones had plastic lenses and a black dot. You can easily switch to the glass lenses when you do the faces. The gas gauge usually has a removable panel were the 914 red parking brake light shines thru (some don't have the removable panel). That can be removed and an oil temp gauge module from 911 installed. The chrome bezel add-on looks nice too - believe its only available from VDO and gets adhered over the black with silicone. They are a tight fit in the dash.
Here's some info on the various years of 914 VDO gauges.

Only have complete gauges - thought all 914's had the nylon gear?
Yup they're 914 gauges - you just need the speedo with the odo reset cable. Good quality gauges and are accurate too.
Saweet!!!! Thank you! I need a freaking break these days. I have the speedo too it's just in the truck. Made my day!
