How do you folks feel about lettering on the tires? It looks great on other classics but I haven't seen any pics of Speedsters with the dressed up tires.

it'd have to be a pretty bad-ass outlaw to pull off that look.
I'm with Gerd. Ooogly. My car actually has raised white letter tires, but they're mounted with the lettters facing inward.

White-walls rather than white-lettering. Its a matter of personal preference, like anything else we respectively accessorize our cars with.
In that case my vote is no. I was thinking of some more discrete letters kind of like the ones below.
I don't think you're going to find too many period correct photos of raised white letters on Speedsters.

Raised white letter tires are very cool, but inappropriate on a Speedster or any 356 IMHO. It's a taste thing and if somebody likes it they will do it. Not this old dude and I'm thinking new skins this winter.
the white letters are a great '70s-'80s look. Pretty cool on a Chevelle or a 'Cuda, I think. Can't say I've ever seen a Porsche decked out with 'em, even in the day. Not much of a '50s look, imho.
Well I have a pic somewhere of a track carerra 356 with racing slicks with painted letters and it looks hawt, I guess it's all down to the overall theme of the car. If you're packing a engine luggage rack, chrome trim etc, then pass................
Buddy, not to be a stickler on details (especially me), but these guys discussing silly details like raised white letters on tires aren't going to be much help. Well, actually they might, but you do have the question asked on your original post. What I might suggest you do is pose the question on the latest Facebook site we've recently been introduced to. There are many foreign/international guys over there that might have better insight to your question. Do a Facebook search for Porsche 356 Speedster Replica Club, post your question and photos in there and see what response you might get. Just trying to be helpful. BTW, where do you reside?

Rich - thanks for the heads up on the FB page.
Gazi, like some of the folks here already said.. it's YOUR car do with it what you want... Of course we'll always be very honest with you to cause we do not care what MOST folks think anyways... Every choice on your speedie is a personal one, and with me I am a big NO vote.. I like the white walls but not raised letters.. that's more of a muscle car look, not Euro sports car... My 2-cents...
I also checked out that FB page.. seems like one long conversation with pix.. nothing like this site with tabs and such... not bad for looking though...
good luck Gazi, love that name... Gazi...
