There is a car show this Sunday afternoon at the Whiterock Lake Festival in Dallas. It's supposed to be a gorgeous day. There's music, vendors and a kids area. Should be a great family afternoon.

Entry fee is a donation to the Whiterock Lake Foundation for maintaining the bike trails, parks and picnic facilties around the lake. For details: www.whiterocklakefoundation.org/festival.html.

Hope to see some of you Dallas area folks there.

I had the only Speedster at the show. It was a beautiful day - sunshine, upper 70s, nice breeze off the water. Too bad some of the other DFW guys couldn't make it. Fortunately for me, that reduced the competition, although there were some great cars there: a 1936 Cord, a mid-50s Cadillac, several custom El Caminos, a hot rod pickup, a Nash Metropolitan, and even a Corvair, among others. I think 40-50 cars total.

I was shocked when they awarded me Best of Show. I am the proud recipient of an 11-year-old bottle of champagne. I don't know if that is because it is really good, or so bad that nobody would drink it! I guess I'll find out.

Thanks for all the accolades. From you guys it is very high praise.

Gerd, Lane is right. It's a third brake light from Billet Specialties. I thought about all of the options the others have used, but kind of liked the way it looked. It's fairly rounded, so fits the shape of the car pretty well and I thought fit the "gentleman's outlaw" look I was going for.

For you wine connoisseurs out there, I am now the proud owner of a 1996 Nyetimber Premiere Cuvee Chardonnay sparkling wine. According to their Web site, it's good stuff. I'm going to save it for a special occasion.
