Hello everyone. I am going to be installing a VW 2 speed wiper switch and get it working so the wipers actually "park" themselves when you turn them off. Right now there is a toggle switch that you have to "time" when turning it off so the wipers are at the bottom of the windshield.
If anyone is interested I will post some pics and a how-to. If not, then I will just "do it".

Thomas.... You will need a VW wiper switch, as it controls part of the "park" function....
I tried to make a toggle switch work on my Spyder without any luck. ( Even went so far as to open up the contact housing on the wiper unit. ) If you use a VW switch and the "park" stops, climbing toward the center of the windshield, you need only swap two wires.. The second and third from the end farthest from the motor....
use a self parking wiper switch from speedway motors. One the wiper side, the brown w/ yellow tracer is your park wire, the black/blue and black/red are hi and lo power (wire colors sometimes vary but easy to sort with a simple meter or look at the top and bottom wire on the toggle switch...) Simple change for the early Beck cars with a toggle on the dash instead of self parking turn signal switch.
Thanks for ll the suggestions. I simply went to Samba and bought a unknown year/model "2 speed wiper switch",and paid 20 bux. This is the one with the little nipples onthe back forthe water squirters and the wiper knob has a push button in the middle for the washer spray,so I am assuming this is late 60's-70's switch.
I looked up ageneric early bay window bus wiring diagram and the connections are all the same. They are basically on the switch=
1.Power +
2.Ground -
3.53
4.53a
5.53b
6.31b (switched -)
The motor itself has all the corresponding wires,so it is basically just "make the connections" at this point.
I will post some pics when I do the install.
Mine not only returns butIi put a 79 bronko 2 motor and switch on it. it has intermitant wipe controls and the Vw knob went back on it. Push the knob and it will squirt wash fluid and wipe one stroke. turn the to the right for low and high. Turn it left for intermittant time delay as you want it.. Most inportant it lookslike it came factory. the kob bezel all match and are labeled i used 55 ford car and truck bezels and screw colars.. one on the light switch and wiper switch.

Been there, done that. My wipers weren't wired for the park function, but I had the correct dash switch, sounds like Thomas' switch. I did have to open the wiper motor, clean, rebend, and grease everything besides the rewire. Mine were wired to low speed, high speed, and ground. Sorted it out with the 66-69 Bentley Bug manual. Mine park now automatically, but I really do try not to drive in the rain......
Thomas,

All of our wiper motors should have the notch in the motor plate that tells the motor where and when to park, the only difference is that with one version you will have to add a diode into the self park wire to keep it from back-feeding and blowing a fuse, and you may have to cut into the wiper motor factory harness to find this wire cut short and tucked away...
Thomas,, Henry at IM can tell you a type 3 notch back or wagon fully automatic will do the trick.. I had to alter the Forks severly to get room for it but I like it . i did change to nose mount it kept working lose > my custom mount solved that problem..Put it to bed.. It's done good ever sence

It did a good job up in the mountians at Ashville when i was up there . It handled the extra work just fine .. the small brake petal is a pluss to your left foot has plenty of room..( no Clutch) It proved it's self to be a keeper it is a 3 speed ..I wish it was a 4 speed it would be awsome..

Henrys cars are differnt and the tranny is a direct bolt in on his newer builds
