Here he is getting his custom Speedster - guesses?

Steve McQueen on the left, Bruce Meyer on the right. Bruce was a founding chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum and creator of the Meyers Manx. Steve had sold the Speedster to him several years before and convinced Bruce to sell it back because he missed it.

McQueen's first new car, purchased in 1958; and raced shortly after. Sold in the 60s. 7 years after he sold it, he bought it back off Bruce Meyer.
Appears to be McQueen's 1972 Mercedes 300SEL with the 6.9 in the garage.
if I'm not mistaken that is a different Bruce Meyer. The picture is a young Bruce Meyer of the Petersen Board,Hot Rod and classic car collector. He did not father the Meyers Manx.
Here's early GO PRO from back in "the" day -
...shoulda left the bumper guards and overriders on...
I still laugh at that photo. One of the most iconic photos of Steve McQueen and Bruce Meyer. Poor Bruce has to be captured with a dogs snout in his groin.
Yes... I'm a child.
I just saw an older Bruce Meyer on the latest Jay Leno's Garage video.

It's hilarious. That was what I couldn't stop looking at either. Damn dogs and their noses.
