Who makes authentic looking rims?

my front rims have disc brakes and the rims have an adapter attached
i would like to have true rim without the adapter
who makes these rims that will accept front disc brakes and the hub cabs?

You don't mention what type of disc brakes you have. 4lug or 5lug vw or other pattern. You can have chrome wheels in 4 or 5 lug with hubcaps. You can also get disc brakes in 4 lug vw or wide 5 vw and no need for adaptors. Depending on the offset of the wheels you can also have the front beam narrowed.

If you have 4 lug discs now and want to run wide five you have no choice but adaptors. You will have to change the whole rotor if you want to run 5lug wheels w/o adaptors.

..and those wide 5 rotors are very expensive as compared to the 4 bolts; don't know why....

I don't think it has much to do with demand but rather with the design. The wider lug pattern causes a problem when combined with disc brakes. Rather than me trying to explain, why not look at a picture of the setup in one of the ads.

The wide-5 brakes cost more because it has limited usage (Pre 67 cars only) whereas the cars that use the 4 bolt discs (1967-79) are more widely available.

Check with Bolton Wheels in California. Delores just sent me some 4 bolt VW pattern and boy do they look sharp

Glenn; your setup is exactly like mine, right down to the sway bar. The wide five setup is sold by SoCal Imports; Vintage Speedsters installed them as an option.

Wide 5 oem rims look beautyful, with or without hubcaps on... Upgrading to disc is an upcoming project for me,.. the kit from So Cal is what I think Im going for, Anyone knows if it works with the stock spindles? Why does the kit for ball joint includes the dual master cylinder? (I have single circuit MS with the reservoir, would not want to mess with it...)

JJ, from what I understand you use the stock spindles. CB Performance also has a set but it includes lowered spindles.
