This is my latest acquisition and I may keep it if my silver and black super widebody sells at Mecum's next month. It's a slate grey with burgundy leather Vintage 1915cc outlaw. Very nice!

Great color combo Troy and love the wheels.
WOW! She's a beauty! I'm jealous.
Can't wait to see what you do to her.
Step 1) Remove silly horse sticker.
Ted
Do you know what that silly horse sticker represents or the history behind it? Perhaps better to leave it on.
I'm not a big fan of super wide bodies. Donna is a size 1...
Oh yes. Killer colors. Love it. Keep the horsies.
Very nice.
I understand the horse is a trademark of Mobile. I didn't get why that's relevant speedsters, other than James Dean apparently had on on his.
It really boils down to the fact that I'm just not a fan of stickers, no matter their pedigree.
Just my opinion.
Ted
Rusty/Ted,
a356fan wrote a while back briefly about the lineage of the horse and the 356.
It has to do with the racing heritage back in the 50's. A lot of the porshces racing had Mobile for a sponsor and they would put this Mobile sticker on the car to represent the sponsor. Kind of like today, but now you have the UPS car and the TIDE car. So it really is the beginning of sponsorships being displayed on the cars.
Rusty
I think you should post the picture of your father racing a speedster at Paramount in 1956 with Mobil Pegasus proudly displayed.
Les
is that the car that was for saleat park place?
No it is not from Park Place.
Beautiful car, Troy.
I like it Troy, very nice ride.
Very sharp, Troy.
Troy absolutely love the car, particularly the beehives...
Soap Box:
I chafe at the idea of displaying someone else's brand. Never understood why someone would pay to wear a Coca Cola shirt or have an Oakley sticker on their back window. Somehow this is different to me than having Oakley sunglasses with the "O" on the temples. The older I get, the less tolerant I am of wearing an ad, particularly at my expense. The pegasus gives a nice historical nod, but I am generally not a fan.
Very cool, Troy! What are those mirrors on the fender?
Those are GT mirrors. That is what they put on Spyders. Kirk can do that for your new build if you really like them.
Had those on my second Spyder. They look good. As far as function they might as well not be there. Hope you got a good neck. You'll need lots of flexibility.
Who need mirrors. Look at James Dean.

Not sure how I feel about the decals yet, but I agree with you. With the exception of my Vintage Speedsters t-shirt, I don't normally wear branded clothing.
Take some lotion with you if you ever go to a Nascar race. You'll need it for all that "chafing."
nice ride dood! what are the plans for it?
[lower it more...]
Not sure yet Mango. Depends a lot on whether or not my silver and black super widebody sells on Mecums in Monterey next month.
Oh yeah, those NASCAR boys are branded. But they are paid quite handsomely for it... My personal angst is for paying to brand yourself.
Again, I love the car. Next time I head back to the valley we'll have to connect for a cruise.
