I was driving today and hit a DC sized pothole and my exhaust broke off. Thankfully I was almost home. Man, the car is loud without the gas paks! I guess I am welding again this weekend. I am going to try and find stainless steal pipes this time around. Are stainless steal pipes easy to find? Or do they need to be special ordered?

Any good muffler shop will sell you a length of stainless exhaust tube, or aluminized tube. Just remember - when you weld it it ain't stainless anymore in the heat affected area. But yeah- it'll last a good 20 years.

I went to a couple of muffler shops today, they have the aluminumized steel, but no stainless. That is what I have and when I welded it before, I could not turn down the amps low enough and I melted the pipe... so it did not take that well... and that is why the weld broke today.

James Alderson has one on his IM, but what is the dash piece under his dash? Is that an accessory? I know it is used to hide the AC vents and stash the stereo. Who sells them?
