Mike, I'm heartbroken! We'll have to take a raincheck on that beer we were going to share. Would you send your inflatable mechanic along anyway? Just ship "her" to the motel and I promise "she" will be waited on hand and foot, kept out of the bright sunshine and returned safely to Quebec. I'm a man of my word. So there.

Thanks Bruce...looking forward to matching some faces to the names that I have been reading all winter. The good weather can't come fast enough! I'll be sure to bring down some real beer with me and maybe some other goodies too! First time owner...I have yet to drive the car more than fifty feet from the trailer to the garage!...just picked it up two weeks ago!
I'm still pinching myself...
See you guys in the spring

Bruce, I think I may be able to go. I just got my class reunion notice and it's the following weekend. I'll try and make a reservation after checking things with my wife. I would love to make the trip, pick up Ben on the way, enjoy the Speedster fraternity and eye candy, and see PA for the first time in my life.

Dealing with insurance after losing a hot water pipe in the slab. Yipee!
Jim,

The water pipe fiasco echos with me. Our old home in Illinois was in a subdivision that had the first homes built with the in slab heating. These homes were probably built in the early 60's. Many of them also developed the same problem as you are having, ugly for sure. The homes were old enough that the builder wouldn't cover jack s***. Don't know what kind of insurance relief they had. My home was on a slab but had the forced air heating and cooling, guess you get lucky a few times in your life. Good luck with the insurance guys, I'm thinking they should come thru even though it wouldn't be considered an act of God. At least it is getting warmer by now so the lack of radient heating for a while shouldn't be too bad, Electric blankets, can't be beat, or maybe a big warm dog!

Allen,

Al not starting on your car till after Carlisle will work out nicely. You can feel free to go over every inch of my SB at Carlisle. And I will be happy to point out the few trouble spots I found.

Jerome

PS: One of my favorite pictures from Carlisle '04. Gordon polishing my car before the show. :)

Gordon,
You are correct,I was at Carlisle last year.I was the one with the 8.5"x14" pad of paper taking notes and making sketches.I was also sporting my Reyn Spooner "Air Cooled Aloha Shirt".I have lots of photos that I also took of alot of the cars and thier owners.I will be distributing them to the respective owners this year.Anyone that wants a copy,I would be more than happy to accomodate!Last year was a Hoot! This year promises to be even more enjoyable. My wife and I will be staying at the same hotel as the club.We will join everyone for Friday and saturday Dinner. As my Harley counterparts say,"Live to eat,Ride to eat".Looking forward to seeing everyone, and making new friendships.I already have a great friend in Al Merlin(Merklin the Magician)

Actually, that's John's picture of my 1946 Ford Business Coupe BEFORE the restoration (and painting it early on my wedding day - but that's another story).

Jerome: I kinda like that picture of you and Kevin sitting at the light with my car in your door's reflection. Just before Carey Hines and us smoked ya! Guess I'll have to bring Chris back again this year, as his faithful Eclipse finally detonated after 106,000 miles and LOTS of quarter miles in the elevens at the drags. You can read all the gruesome details and see the pictures at:

Hope to see Y'All at Carlisle once again!!!!!!

Hey Jerome! come to think of it, I have a stock 1969 VW engine, more or less complete, which I could bring to Carlisle to donate to your "I wanna build an engine" project. Do you want it?
Hey Bob! Come on down! The Hoss hat is on my packing list for both trips even if I have to pack items inside it to avoid wasted space. I have not taken Gordon's suggestion yet and installed a third brake light on it or side marker lights either. I haven't finished the design for the quick electrical disconnects; I don't want to get whiplash when making one of my infamous quick exits ;-)
