Hoss,

It wasn't hard, in fact I think Gordon volunteered to shine up all the Speedsters this year.

What a guy!

Gordon,

I would be happy to take that motor off your hands. It would make a fine specimen to increase my engine knowledge. Plus waiting till May will give me time to finish the garage and other home projects before I get distracted by engine building.

Let me know what you want for it.

Jerome

Mmmmmm....giant egg sandwiches...(drool)
Is it just me, or is this Winter running on a little too long? I personally have had just about enough of it this year. It probably has something to do with the fact that I have something special to look forward to...Carlisle.
I just booked our room for Thurs, Fri, and Sat. The beer is chillin' and it has finally STOPPED SNOWING!!! We're almost there...c'mon Spring weather!
Mr Bob Carley...good to hear that you are going down to Carlisle...I look forward to meeting with you.

Dan
We need to close in on the first 25 registrations...now offering "2005 East Coast National Speedster Meet" frameable certificates to the first 25 registered as the "Speedsterowners.com" club. 13 so far (list is in the first post at the top of this thread). Registration instructions can be found here:

Come on guys!
It's not looking to good time wise.I have just finished the engine compartment. Had to make some mod's to get the engine pan seal to fit. Thanks Alan M. for the photos. It helped alot. I have to still do the wiring and the car is off to the upholstry shop. There is also a threat of being shipped off to Scotland for two weeks in May.

East Coast Bruce!!

I don't really trust the accuracy of Obstetricians, so we're registered for Carlisle, 2005!!

Arriving on Thursday to go cruisin' on Thursday Night and Friday Morning with Jerome and anyone else who's there.

Bringin' our award-winnin' Chili for the cook-off!!

Buggin' out late Sunday morning.

Me, Pearl and Chris.......

Alan! Count us in on the Dinners and stuff!

Gordon
A-Headin' back up North and bringin' Spring with us!!
My plan is to have a nice stiff Manhatten tonight during happy hour. My Dr. make-u-well was happy with my BP (not as in gas) numbers today and I hope my lipid profile is as good also. So by tomorrow morning I will love everyone, especially the Irish ;-) Irish wanna beez OK too. Maybe I'll even get my car back from builder Steve. Well, at least by the weekend. It's pretty soggy today. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.
John as in Hoss

Hmm... after last year's crazy pre-trip trailer building preparations, I almost feel like I should start another project now. Maybe I'll weld up a smoker trailer to take the cook-out competition by storm! If I do it right, I'm sure someone with a Speedster hitch could tow it over to the fairgrounds....

:)
In case anyone missed it, the first draft of the schedule for Carlisle is posted in another thread under "Events". Henry Reisner of Intermeccanica is doing a seminar on "VW Type 1 dual carburetor maintenance, troubleshooting and tuning", John Steele of JPS Motorsports is doing a seminar on "Tuning Speedster Suspensions" plus a ton of other things going on! Take a look.

Come on guys we're looking for 9 more to register so we can lock in a tent on the show field. If you're coming why wait, register now - just $15 for three days and come-and-go as you please!

Instructions on how to register can be found here:
speedsterseast.home.att.net/register.htm
GEE.......If I trailered Pearl down to Beaufort (1,006 miles from here) and then back up to Carlisle (another 600 miles?) I might beat Mike Cochrane trailering Fern down from the Great White North. But then, that's not exactly cool, is it? Besides, I don't want to drive through NY/NJ traffic with the trailer again 'til the fall (if even then!!!!)

Really nice trophys, Bruce........the winners should certainly be proud of them!

Just announced by the New Jersey Replicar Club, hosts of the Saturday evening dinner:

Jim Youngs, editor of Kit Car Builder magazine will be the guest speaker at the Saturday evening dinner. His wife, Carolyn (aka "QueenBee"), and publisher of Kit Car Builder will also be there.

Register for dinner today by contacting Alan Merklin at drclock(To-Email-Insert-@)comcast.net
Allright, two more registrations added to the list:

John Estes is driving in from Rhode Island (another car in Gordon's parade)

and

Steve Ray cruising in from Michigan.

John and Steve - don't forget to jump over to the other thread and put your order in for a commemorative bottle of wine courtesy of Theron!

The warm Spring weather is starting to bring 'em in and we're pretty much on schedule. I just checked my records from last year and we had 50 cars registered the week before the Meet so keep them coming!
We need FIVE more registrations by April 21st for Carlisle to pitch our tent.

One more registration added to the list! Peter McEwan is driving in from South Carolina.

Hey Johhny2bolts, sounds like the makings for a caravan from the south.

Come on guys - 4 more to go by April 21st! Then the registration goes from $15 to $25. (BTW, the website says April 30th but that is incorrect - the webmaster for the Speedsterseast site has been out of commission so we have not been getting updates posted).

Let's do it!
