Jim, I didn't say it is was a bad idea to put a Subie engine in a speedster (I wish I had done this from the start).  It's a good idea, but expensive if you have to pay someone else to do the conversion.

 

 

You have all the good advice here you can use -- maybe a tad too much.  Best advice: go see one and drive it.  Go to the builder, and look him over carefully.  Ask a lot of questions.  And then remember this:

 

Torque and HP are like money: you can never have too much, and no matter how much you have, someone else has more . . .

 

Oh, yeah, and torque is addictive.
