Looks like I'm going to have 2 cars with wide 5s. And with my spyder I can't rotate wheels because of different tire/wheel sizes. Front tires are starting to look a little worn. Looking for recommendation for adapter for mounting and balancing. Thanks.

The Discount Tire Store I go to has one. Are you looking for one to M/B your own tires?
I figured most tire stores would not have one and I would have to provide my own. If most tire stores have adapters for wide 5s I guess I don’t need to purchase one.
I’d call first. I don’t think it’s a given. I think maybe I lucked out that my store had ind.
Phil: I really do not think that most stores would have a wide5 wheel balance adaptor from the 1950s and 60s sitting around somewhere. I know I couldn't find one that did.
Better see if you can locate one somewhere. I'm sure someone on here will give you some guidance on this - where to find one, etc. A shop that still works on old VWs might have one.
I know this question has been discussed on here before.
I'm having a machine shop buddy make me one. I put the bug in his ear that if he wanted to make a few, he could sell a few of them here.
I'll reach out to him and check.
In the mean time, who'd want one?
Phil:
Two options: Both will also require 5 male lug bolts.
....You can use a 4 to 5 bolt pattern adapter

....Or there is a guy that sell the ring also on the Samba.

Lenny had a Volvo rotor drilled and tapped to 5x205 with 12mm threads by a machinist buddy. 5 lug bolts and you're all set. I like Alan's suggestion of the 4 to 5 bolt adapter. $78 a pair, split the cost with one guy, or buy the pair and put one on the table at Carlisle or SLO.

Today, the rim-clamp tire machines don't need an adapter to mount. You'll only need the adapter to balance.
Thanks guys. Anyone want one for $40. I’ll pay for shipping in the lower 48.
Panhandle Bob had those on the front of his VS until he replaced them with new wide five disc brakes. Bet he still has them sitting on a shelf in FL and might part with one?
Buy?
You can just have them both for free. You pay shipping and they are yours.
His deal is better.
Didn't mean to blow your deal, Phil.
I just don't need them and any room I can make in my Speedster stash area is welcome.
I’m good. I’ll actually have 2 cars with wide 5s stored at 2 different locations.
