wide 5's, is there a "correct" silver color for rims

Correct for what?

The best color match for the factory 356 wheels is Wurth Silver, here's a link for where to get it:

FOR VW's the wide fives came in white (Pearl and Lotus, sometimes Silver Beige) and gray/black, and white (same shades as before along with Cumulus White) and body color, depending upon the year of the car.

The rims were always some shade of white, the centers were body color or gray/black.

Bob, Lets see pics of the new Vintage Outlaw. I heard the powder coat on the doghouse came out good.

Eastwood a restoring supplier also has a Zinc fuel tank paint that very good . I recommend a urethane wheel clear coat over it. also very correct.

A power coat silver would be better but pricy

Some early rims even had a pinstripe.
