There is a post in the "Knowledge" section on Bivens wheels. The centers are CNC machined from an aluminum billet, then placed in a special jig and TIG welded to a new aluminum rim, then finish machined/polished. Available widths are 5.5", 6.0", 7.0", and (I think) 8"; backspacing can be varied. My 5.5's have 4 1/8" backspace, weigh 10 lbs. each, and were $550 each over a year ago.
I thought Alex Bivens was the Commodore at the East Greenwich (RI) Yacht club?

Here's some Bivens' mounted on a 56 GT. In this case you will note that they are polished, but not highly polished (although this is available, like on Geo's beautiful 56 GS IMster). This car also has the longer studs installed, a look you can do with stock wide 5s.. painted or chrome. If you use the CB Wide Five Disc kits you can have studs pressed in at the length of your choice.
If you look at Dale's file you will also see a nice set up on Rich's (now sold) IM. Using the pre-A wide 5s in 16" and painted then clear coated, he used polished drum skinz, longer studs, etc, to get a different look.. the car is slammed.. and I think spacers were used.
I like John Leader's look using a pure GT approach. Take a look at his files.
George is right, they go for $550+ (and up!) a corner. 6" is his standard cut (I think).
I think for the dollar, if some of you are wanting a stocker sans caps type of a look, in a "pretty" version, I would get the 15" stocker 5s painted, clear-coated, and if you want a faux drum look (if you have discs on all corners) I would go with the Skinz polished. There are other variations on this theme.. chrome 5s with black painted centers, silver and silver, etc.
I'm not an expert on the subject, just sharing what I have learned from others on this forum.
