Owner is dreaming with a $7000 buy it now price. As drclock suggests he is about $6K over the mark...also, I don't see the chassis that replaces the VW pan....what did I miss? Maybe he is referring to the fiberglass pan for the floor....no photos of all the "other parts" he claims as part of the deal, like suspension, brakes, etc...Run Forrest, run....
While the $7k may seem high - it's less than I paid for my new CMC kit in 1989! I paid like $7995 plus an inflated $1400 Miami to VA trucking charge (Black gel coat was even an extra $400). Think the owner said this kit was $14000 new - and suspect that's correct. Plus of course they aren't made any more. Not sure why he didn't show where chassis hooks up - one picture shows a hint of extra steel in the front trunk area --- and of course you see a fiberglass pan and tunnel. Believe Alan said difficulty was that nothing lined up when trying to attach suspension - so it took far more work than a factory VW pan.

Here's link I found to their catalog that talks about the 2x4" custom steel frame that you attach your running gear to - it has provision for the VW torsion tube beam, motor/transaxle mounts (see at end).

On a SB there are cradles built into the raised 2 x 4 steel box frame that that is a poor excuse for a tube frame. The forward cradle cups that receive the VW axle beam are too narrow and needed to be reworked......fire wrench worked well here.. The rear has similar configuration that you hang the entire rear section of a Beetle rear suspension, that too is made poorly and also needs a flame wrench and much attention to make it fit and I loosely fit both sections then discovered with cross measurmants that this was not going to be a home shop job. Dragged the project up onto my trailer anong with a stop at the local beverage store for a couple cases of good grog as a bargaining agent...we were able toset it up right on an old style Data Liner frame table at a local body shop.
Not sure if John W. or Jerome S. ran into these issues with their SB builds.
I sent the seller a note light heartly suggesting that he include a gift certificate for a couple of kegs to drown the buyers sorrows..
