We drove my wife’s 1956 FiberFab (CMC) Porsche Speedster w/15K+miles down from Sacramento to Carmel for 2024 Monterey Car Week but this time to sell😢; $40,000 Firm. Why are we selling it now? Well, we are in our late 70’s and it’s just getting pretty hard to get in and out of it so we bought a Porsche Cayenne that we will be bringing down here in the future. We have the complete build book and all receipts plus the ‘pink slip’ with us! This Speedster has been in several Car shows here during Monterey Car Week in past years but this is the first time it’s been up for sale. It’s a driver, not a show car, it was built in 1987 and repainted in 1996 so it’s not concours’ but still looks beautiful and runs great. It’s always had a little lower compression in number four cylinder than the other three cylinders but has not affected its performance at all. (Borescope pics show no scarring.) It’s powered by a rebuilt 1966 Porsche 912 engine, 102 Hp @ 5800 RPM (same exact engine as a 1965 356SC engine except tuned for more mid-range torque ) Dual Weber IDF Carbs and a Porsche 912 muffler. It has a 7K RPM electronic Delco-Remy HEI distributor so never needs points and condenser changed, & has an oil cooler and spin on oil filter. It is built on a 1971 VW pan with IRS transmission with a Porsche clutch and pressure plate. It has large anti-sway bars, front CB Performance disc brakes, Pioneer Bluetooth/CD Radio, Dash Camera, Very comfortable Triumph Spitfire seats, & KYB shocks and a BlazeCut Fire Suppression System. The wheels are Porsche 5 bolt pattern. Lenses are OEM Porsche. It has a black canvas convertible top and tonneau cover. The odometer quit working at 11,500 miles so we estimate we added another 3000 miles since. Come test drive it!
